My parents are still using the refrigerator they bought for themselves as a wedding present in 1956. It's a GE and practically nothing has been done to it. It's still keeping the sodas and water cold in their garage.
In the meantime we've probably gone through a dozen+ refrigerators between our 2 households since 1983.
