Subject: RE: $9 corn-any plans

Democrats want to get rid of cattle to save the planet. They are getting their wish. Not only can't you feed $9 corn and stay in business, the ripple affect means you can't feed a beef cow and stay in business. You can talk corn stalks all you want, but locally more and more acres are baled and hauled to feed lots or dairies to mix with wet distillers grain, Oh, and try to get your hands on some of that. My expectation is a continued diminishing of the US cow herd and increased importation of mystery meat. Packers will still make a killing (no pun intended), they will keep their corporate (minion) feeders in business and independent cattle feeders will go the way of the passenger pigeon. Been that way here for quite awhile. Anyone keeping track of scrap metal prices for their cattle feeding equipment?

Time to go out and deal with irrigation water and contemplate the absurdity of growing $200 plus hay for cows.
