The first challenge to that question is "are they really increasing OM?". Data. Let's see it. UW Madison has data from long term studies. Grazing is a component. Organic is a component Conventional and No-till are components. Look up the WICST (trials). Only GRAZING is building OM. Barely.

Now a story. 7-8 years ago after a few inch rain we are combining corn for bb940p. Egg farm calls up and asks if we can quit for the day early. Why? Nobody else is running cause it was too wet. They asked what sand hill we were on. We were on Tom's lowest field. Not even picking up mud on tires. He'd been no-tilling for 25 years at that point and his yields are top notch.

It can be done in everyone's locale once you address the challenges "unique" to your operation.

You already went where I wanted to go. Tillage or No Till is a component. Just like grazing is a component.

Personally I think diversified rotation, cover crops, and reducing tillage is more beneficial then just tillage or no till.
