scmn | Fuel figures will depend some on tractor and bale size. I figure about 3.5-4.5 gal/hr on stalks making 35-45/hr which is about 10 bales/gallon; seem to use more fuel on ditch hay with more travel miles. .1-.15 gal/bale is 0.25-0.50/bale plus 0.25-0.50/bale on net so 0.50-1.00 more than last year. I am figuring 1.00 higher than last year for existing customers.
With the way things are going with net, new one time customers may be way higher. Currently have 2+ yrs net in shed so can take on extra custom this year, but I don't plan to give the net away not knowing what price will be this fall. Heard from a couple dealers that they still have not received their annual netwrap shipments; mine is in the shed. | |
