Subject: RE: Round Bales/Cut Rake Bale

SC Wisconsin
I only cut and rake my own, so no ideas there. I don't do much custom baling, less than 1000 a year but I was at 10 bucks a bale for 4' wide bales. All really close stuff, friends of mine, and I make it very clear that the windrows better be big even if that means they have to rake it an extra time to put 4 into 1. So I was 10 for 4x5 wet or 4x6 dry and 11 for 4x6 stalks. I'm raising it 2 bucks a bale this year.

Edit to add, I didn't raise it last year even though fuel and net were up because I didn't lower it when fuel was dirt cheap. Even if consumable prices go down I won't lower it now, ive gotten to the point where I don't really need the extra work. Remember there's always someone out there willing to do it for less. There was a local kid advertising like crazy last year for $8 a bale running his dad's equipment and bragging about how smart he was because he could still make money lol
