I custom bale and just trying to wrap my head around the increased costs this year. My question is what is everyone charging this year? 5 1/2 ft x 5 foot bale baled with new John Deere baler, net wrapped. I have been at $14 to bale and $14 to cut and rake. If I go to $16 to bale and $16 to cut and rake then add a $20 per hour fuel charge my numbers look like I will be even profit wise with previous years. I would like to hear from others as to what you are charging this year as well as from what anyone is paying. Thanks in advance.

Perhaps you made a mistake, looks like you are charge the same for baling only and to rake/bale?

On to your question, how many gallons an hour does your tractor burn? And how many bales an hour do you average? That should tell you if $20 fuel charge is enough or not. IMHO
