Texas | Last year was $35 for cut rake and bale 5x6 around here. We are a low yield environment in general. 2 an acre maybe average on normal years. But I’m hearing about 2/3 bale an acre is what wheat hay is making. I’ve heard $38 for this year but don’t know for sure.
Not only have costs to bale increased, but purchasing power for the guy cashing that check is down. So a guy probably needs $3 a bale more money to cover costs and add 25% to profit margin so his family lives the same. Thanks joe. | |
