northeastern Ohio | When I was in the same position a few years ago, I signed up with a landowner group. They did the negotiating and monitored the project for me. When there were problems, they took care of most of them and negotiated a settlement for me.
These landowner groups usually pop up wherever a pipeline goes through. There were several to choose from and I felt this one was the most trustworthy (some of them felt like they were maybe working for the pipeline company to secure a fast deal...).
