. Whereas some of us have already been there, done that, and are now trying to reap the rewards of the time and investment.

You’re not trying very hard if the money is just sitting in a bank account.

Ben, folks that have worked and saved for 40-45 years, seen first hand the big market corrections to their equities accounts, are just tired and want to enjoy retirement, not endure it. They don’t want to have to worry, fret and stew about money anymore. And most are willing to gladly give up the spread the lender makes for the risk involved. You’re young. You’ll be there someday and you’ll understand.

Welll......I am one of those guys who has over 45 years of working and saving behind me and bank or paper assets have virtually zero appeal to me anymore. My "retirement" is far safer in land, equipment, and livestock working with people who I know and trust to do the best they are capable no matter the circumstances. If investments in people and real assets are going to go sour, bank and paper assets will go worthless first. If inflation continues to heat up it will be those who own paper or cash who will lose the most. My opinion.....with a long history of family experience behind it.
