Ohio | Its been years since we traded off our 4400 so Im running on vague memories on how this set up was, but could the top variable pully not be closing (squeezing together) when the belt becomes loose? Did the top variable pully come together when you had the top drive belt off?
I have seen where these pulleys will no longer open and close due to faulty tension spring or dried grease on shaft.
It sounds like the top one is froze at the spot where it was left at last fall ?
