You guys are all right. I have done all of that, opened the cylinder, center of the sheave movement...... The bottom belt gets tight - I think it calls for like 3/4-1 inch deflection at around 20lbs pull. I can get that easily on the bottom belt - the top one - It's more like 3-5 inches of deflection at around 2 lbs of pull. It's sloppy, just plain ole sloppy. I can remember that this thing would climb hills in high gear and would lug the engine down..... Not anymore - once the belts start to squeal, it's time to shift down....
