northwest tennessee | What do these bales of gin trash look like, size? I have fed loose before but it can have all kinds of metal in it. Screws, slivers, etc. I dont know where some of it would come from. To the OP I would also look real close at waste of hay. Control that as much as possible. The DDGs will help as much as anything as far as stretching hay. Cows are still a good price pretty much but feeders and fats are on the rise and may even get better depending on this inflation thing we have going. For that reason I would try to hold on to the cows if I could unless I had some that needed to go anyway. I might pull them and sell. The DDGS will be more consistent and if fed right will be less waste than the hay. I think you have hills so there are places where you can get out of the mud but can still get nasty. |
