If I was short of hay , I would get some cottonseed . a trailer load dumped in a barn fed a few pounds a day will stretch hay. IF cottonseed costs too much , a combination of corn soybean hull works. Around Memphis some gins are baling gin trash that can be fed instead of hay . Never fed any myself , but friends have fed gin trash and it works. get Hay Rings if you don't have any. Also you don't have to leave hay out 100% of the time, figure out how much they need and feed that much everyday. where ya at in middle tn ? Good luck feeding them cows this winter!!!
