I helped a friend with an Allis Chalmers C his grandfather had bought new. It had a few oil leaks and he had picked up a $50 engine gasket set. By the time we had the crank turned, new sleeves and pistons installed and the head redone, all the leaks stopped. It was an expensive gasket set. Also a good lesson in why you use the manufacturer’s specified oil viscosity.
