Don't know anything about the milk test, but my initial question is do you trust your vet? Is he old and needs to retire, or young and green?
Generally I'd say the science is more reliable than people. Personally, I'd hand check them again shortly and if they still come up open I'd contact the lab to work on getting a refund and so they can recalibrate the system.
