| Yeah I know how you feel. Just went through this over 2018 taxes. said you never paid, payment due basically within 30 days with interest and penalty. I had paid through the eftps system and had conformation number. Impossible to reach by phone. I enclosed copy of bank records and eftps conformation number showing payment in full. Next letter was threat of seizure of all accounts and property until I repaid my 2018 taxes. Went to accountant and he responded by mail with basically the same info I provided. Got notice back from irs that in their eyes they did not recognize the accountants ability to represent me because I hadn’t filled out some other form for him to represent me to them. The next correspondence was they were reviewing my payment claim and at this time no 2018 taxes due. Finally 4 months later I get an official letter stating that the 2018 taxes were already paid and the matter was closed. Ugh.
