They will generate the power in a powerplant that's 90% efficient at converting diesel and gas to electricity instead of everybody driving around with 75% of the heat going out the tailpipe of a gas or diesel powered vehicle. If you don't think electric companies can generate power efficiently try to run a generator for a week straight out in your front yard and tell me how much it costs compared to getting it from the power company.


Power is never lost through transmission lines.
Run a electric fence 1/4 mile under high voltage line.
If you can hold onto it.

Producing maybe
Loss well
Most pay at the meter.
Not before the transformer.

There are always some line losses, but it's mitigated by using higher voltages.
