A separate thought I had was, how will the power consumption figure when batteries get weak. What if your battery is weak, you use the same amount of electricity to charge it, but you only go 20 miles instead of 40?
I'm going to try and make an analogy here, but think of it as a gas tank slowly filling with sand. As a battery ages it's a loss in capacity, not so much a loss in efficiency. It's not the same thing as something like a gas tank with a hole in it.
As as a battery ages it would take less energy to become fully charged and hence, has less energy to provide. |
