The Internet | There's plenty of people around here finding the money for £100,000+ Range Rovers. Every time I think I could be able to afford a new car in the next year or two, they put the price of things up, so I'm back looking at 3-5 year old replacements. There will always be a market for almost end of life cars for people to run on a shoe string. Poor people, or people who choose to run old beaters, have always accepted that they have to compromise on reliability, and thus range. The person in the market for a £1,000 car just wants it to go, they accept they're not going to be able to jump in it, load the family into it and take it to the south of France or the Swiss Alps for 2 weeks skiing. They will mostly be doing local trips. Some of the early Nissan Leafs will be getting a bit leggy now. There's a 16-year-old Prius in town, and a lot run as taxi's have intergalactic mileages on them. |
