Early 80’s here in NC you could buy almost anything you wanted , of course 12-18 percent, had some dry years, feeder pigs 1.00 a lb, running short on corn, elevator corn 4.00 and tops dropped to 40 cent, doesn’t take long to do upside down, Most lenders let you slide for 6 months, after that, they came and got it, saw a lot of machinery sell 10 cent on the dollar,
