My grandpa made it through the 80’s and his words of wisdom were, “Did not buy anything that did not make money, if I thought I needed something I just made do with what I already had at least that was paid for” His words still ring in my ears everyday, he was very wise for only having 8 years of education in a one room school.

I plan to pay off my current debt and buckle down a little. I just have a funny feeling that things are going to be ugly the next year or two at least. But I’m young and dumb so I’m probably wrong and will miss out on making it big by doing so but being debt free sleeps better than foreclosure notices in the mail.

I’m far from debt free but doing the same thing, paying it off as fast as I can. Have some iron that don’t making me money but I’m positioned to pick up land if it comes along. I’m pessimistic about the politics of the next 4-5 years. Depending on who you talk to, we’ll be at war by then, might be time to make some good money on commodities!
