sw ontario
Hi Nick , my one b-i-l started farming at Kinloss around 1980 , bought first 100 acres, home, hog barn for $100,000...Bought some more ,rented a bunch and then high interest and some frosts /poor crops ended his farming career...

Had not been up through Paisely, Chesley, Cargil area for probably 10 yrs.+ so drove through there a couple yrs. ago and so surprised the small mixed farms, cow-calf,ect. was all big fields and it was during wheat harvest and a lot of new combines , grain carts and tractor trailers harvesting .
Maybe some money from Bruce energy but what a difference form the '80's....and your land is worth more than ours as for a long time we were 3x your price.

Then you have Listowell/Mitchell/Embro with $30,000 + acre land
