Northern Alberta
Disc brakes are not designed for, nor intended to be used without power assist. Having said that, I have a '31 Model A pickup with front disc brakes that work quite well without power assist and i have a 2
'28 Model A sedan with front disc brakes that I have to REALLY stand on to get action and it has no power assist either. The main difference is that the truck has a proportioning valve and the car does not. Proportioning valve is a must on mixed brakes (disc up front and drums out back).
