They cherry picked NW IA. There was rain in a stretch from Inwood to Rock Valley to Orange City to Remsen that most missed. They mention “Merrill” as a dry area. Actually, that is more typical in this area. 42.5 for beans is typical.

Early corn has been chopped into silage for the most part in this area. About 150 per acre will catch most of the heavy soils.

Later planted corn may do somewhat better.
