One time I needed a minor skin graft for a welding burn that wouldn’t heal on my hand, I was under the impression that they were just gonna use a local, with just a touch of happy juice to calm me, I remember counting backwards after they introduced the happy juice into the iv, the next thing I remember is gasping for air.. and lights out.

I went into surgery with my undies and a tee shirt on, when I woke up I was totally naked and had a cast on my hand half way up my arm. The recovery nurses seemed extremely nervous when they came into check on me, and I overheard one of them say to the other, “you had a fighter on your hands, huh”?  I looked over when I heard this and both nurses disappeared out of the room, but I thought I heard the other nurse say, “yea”.
