Faunsdale, AL | Now a days they use small doses of propofol I think to stop that sort of physical stuff until they think you’re ready and they get you extubated. It seems like the “lights” just switched on for me.
My experience is hearing comes first, but what do I know, I was unaware before!
My oldest daughter is a nurse working at the hospital where I wound up after an accident a few years ago. It was great to have somebody that could conn?? her way into situations like the trauma room where they jump on you when you’re first brought in and the recovery ward after anesthesia.
I remember having just become aware of things and having done the mental math to see how long I had been under when I became aware of her voice. I could hear her talking to all the other nurses and techs coming closer and closer down the labyrinth of stations that is the post surgical recovery ward of a large hospital.
