Subject: RE: Inflation and livestock markets

western colorado
I saw the writing on the wall during the 14-15 market season. Everybody hated me, the bank, the sale barn and the packers. The bank didn’t like the ****ty cattle I was buying. The sale barn didn’t like it that I could buy ****ty cattle and the packers didn’t like that I could make ****ty cattle grade. They would rather import the ****tiest of the ****ty cattle…….now that’s alright cause the big boys make money? Row crop guys can work the system grow a poor crop and claim insurance. How is that deck really stacked? I still have the feed yard still have most of the equipment. I think it’s all going away one way or another. There is no reason to work that hard for the amount earned. I can work 1/4 of the hrs and make twice the money. I have no love for cattle at this his point. Should of dumped the whole deal in 09 when my dad passed away.
