We got a trade-in price on a one year old well equipped 8R coming in with an estimated 300 hours. Then the salesman pulled out a build sheet on a similarly equipped new one and it was only $10,000 more than the used one. I thought he was going to waste our time. We dropped a few higher priced options off the new one and added a couple others and got quite a ways under the used one. Only caveat is we won't get it until next year but we continue to use old faithful until then. I'll take that barrel job if I get to be the first one to eat and pass gas in the cab. Used stuff is inflated and it pays to price around. Sometimes used is a better value but not always
So you bought a new loaded 8R for $240K?
Your story only proves the trade in and new one were two high. Two barrel jobs instead of one |
