Ripley MN | It’s rough for everyone around but the cash crop guys have it alot eaiser then the guys that raise livestock… I don’t need sympathy but when there was $8 corn it’s hard to feel bad… the cattle haven’t went up enough to compare to that. Yes I know I should sell the cows and buy a combine.
Im not sure what the future holds. I farm with dad and he bought his first new tractor in 2015. If I remember right the last tractor grandpa bought new was his 806 which we still have. The way things are I’ll never buy a new tractor.
I crush gravel for a living and luckily only working a couple miles from home. The owner of the pit and I were talking and he bought a new baler. He paid more with trade in then what I paid for straight out for a new baler in 2020.
Farming is getting to be a rougher and rougher business to be in! I always respect your opinion and you seem like the real deal but it bothers me a little when you complain about trading in a year old combine for a brand new one and it costs to much…. Try running cow/calf pairs….
