Chris I was part owner in a implement business for 20 years and agree a100%. A big downturn could rewrite map again as to which dealers are left standing. I told our local dealer that glad he was sitting in that chair, not me. It is like a big poker game and stakes are rising big time for dealers while company raises prices and expects your market share numbers to rise. The mfg are really only interested in selling new. They have a very small stake in the used side. The dealer is assuming all the risk. I hope some of these dealers that have doubled in last 5 years have the experience and the risk management to weather the storm when it comes. These huge price increases are unprecedented and are going to be very hard to manage on all sides. You hit the nail on the head but said it much better than I did. My post wasn’t whining about the to boot price, but what these huge price increases will do to the whole industry. I can’t see how this is going to end well. My beef is companies are raising prices to absolute max and not worried about anything future at all. Had one of my old friends in the business complain that he has never seen mfg running around with no real plan and no look to future.
