Subject: RE: Best metal lathe

Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle

OHKen - 1/15/2022 04:07 Had a bushing lathe for years . Put a grease zerk in place of the oil cup ! Crude but effective for the task I was needing .

Nothing wrong with bushing lathe thats still pretty tight, and it would serve the average guy for the rest of his life most likely.  Problem is lots are getting loose to the point they cant be tightened anymore. My uncle has one like this and its still useable, but the headstock is getting loose and will get to chattering sometimes, its now his "backup to the backup" lathe. He can still turn out good parts on it, but its because he knows what hes doing with it.
