I have heard many people say that but by the time you realize how bad of shape you are in you usually can't pyhsically carry it out .
Nobody wants to end up in 'nursing' home but I had a neighbor call his HVAC guy and then went to basement and shot himself. Another case an elderly woman was saving medication pills, family found them and had 2 grand daughters stay with her, in the morning they could not find her and she had moved a big cocrete covering over cistern and jumped in .....pretty tough deal for family
