till I up and die suddenly.

Good to have goals in life. I know you have motorcycles and scuba diving going on, but I think you may need another activity or two to get there.
Considered skydiving, rock climbing or even participating in medical trials?

I've seen the sudden heart attack; the move in with the kids; the assisted living/retirement homes and the stick it out in your own place mostly self-sufficient until God says that's enough. To be honest, though, I've not seen anyone over 80 die "suddenly". Might be too cynical..

On one hand, a person should put some effort into knowing how they can shape their own outcome.
On the other hand, if you are the person helping the other person, knowing their options and your abilities can reduce some of the decision-making stress.

Appreciate the thoughts and experiences others have shared.
