I came pretty close to it about a month ago when the motorcycle I was riding decided to go deer hunting. Life flight to a regional hospital from my local hospital and modern medicine pulled me back from what would have likely been death had such an accident happened a generation ago.

An old person dying in their sleep used to not be that unusual thing. Seems to be today.
