SW Wisconsin | I started breeding in late May, the bull came out at the end of August and I tried a couple AI in the week or so after the bull left. The vet was out in late October. For most of the cows I had a breeding date that I told him, then he could say that was correct, she was further along or not that far, or open. I don't know what might be messing with hormones. They're on roughly 30 lbs of corn silage, 20 lbs of alfalfa/ grass dry hay, and 6 lbs of dairy grain mix, with free choice 1:1 mineral, bicarb, and trace mineral salt block. Milking about 18 lbs/ cow/ day at 7+% fat, 4.6-4.9% protein. | |
