Several years ago I had a lot of trouble like that. I bought a bunch on new openers the first season after rebuilding my corn rows. Many never made it an hour. The bean rows that didn't get redone held up fine.
That winter I sent the planter to my dealer to go through. I told him I still had the openers he sold me last year unused. He refused to use them. He put in all new openers. I have ran 3 years and have yet to lose one.
In other words I bet you have a bad batch.
