Honestly imo it doesnt matter if the calfs ears are warm if the temp is cold. Think about yourself. You get a cut on your hand in the winter time, it is much more sensitive to the cold. Same rules apply for a tagged ear, its an open wound.



If the calf's ear is cold and stiff it (the ear) is going to fall off. It doesn't matter if you tag it or not.

If the ear is warm = blood is flowing it is going to keep the ear = tag it.
