Choose replacement heifers to fit your goals, everybody has their own criteria. I like to select heifers that are medium-large frame with good balance and depth. Disposition matters to me as well. Pelvic measuring has been a helpful tool. I know which bulls breed which calves from which pasture I turned them into in the summer. If I write down which cows are in which pasture then I know come calving time which bulls sired which calves. Also AI, I wait 10 days to turn the cleanup bull in so I have a good idea which were AI sired and which were bull bred.
