ND | The thing that holds the drives and connects to the server via an add on card: $350+shipping($100). The add on card: around 40-80 from my looking, and the server hardware itself, shouldn't need to be special I would think, as(for the most part) a CPU is a CPU, pcie lanes are pcie lanes.
I think if I set it to jbod(just a bunch of disks) instead of a raid right away I could save some there. I know I seen a YouTube video of how to do that(start with full disks then add a few blank and the program slowly unloads disks, reformat, and "raids" itself) but of course I cant find it now. | |
