WC Mn/Dakotas | Its a gamble in a sandy situation. If you don't get enough moisture your screwed either way. In general though, increasing pops would be what I would do to try to get competition to grow more root depth and a taller, more harvestable plant in that situation. Population learning blocks and finding a balance of seed cost/ plant structure manipulation /yield results.
I don't have near as much experience/history in sandy/gravel/dry as I do on high salt/sodium zones and high population seeding rates. But in time you learn where to increase population and then get to a bad enough zone that is so bad you just start to limit inputs because no seed amount is going to work or be profitable. | |
