Sounds like ground we have in east central MN. We did the same with our corn 2 years ago and have seen good results. Always surprises me what 18,000 pop can yield. Those same spots would have been close to zero before. I have a replicated bean test this year. We used to plant all the beans at 140000 just because. I have heard of planting heavier pops on the worst ground before but I don’t buy it either. So I’m testing 80, 100, 120 and 140,000 and we will see when the combine rolls.
