Subject: RE: Soybean Population

Mid-Michigan
I have very little sand, but one farm has a sand ridge running through it. I've found that some lime on it every year and a very heavy cover crop on it (if you can get the cover to grow and no tilling into it has helped tremendously. When I conventionally farmed that I could grow anything. Trying to conserve the moisture in that area was critical. The mat of cover really helped.
I plant in 7.5 rows and I plant more seed there not less.
