E. CO, exactly half way between NE and OK | You could use a well cylinder hooked to the top of your pipe and use the wind mill to pump the water. The well cylinder will have the check valves in it. You will have to prime it. You may have to put the well cylinder below ground to keep it from freezing. Fine an old under ground fuel tank and bury it in the ground with one end on top. That would give you a way to go inside and work on the well cylinder. Don't be afraid of the wind mills, I bought a new 6' mill in 1971, put it over a well, and it has been pumping since 71 (49 years) and it is still pumping. I gave $235 for it in 71 and it is pumping today. I haven't seen a solar system that will pump as much water as that mill has for that money. |
