| Had a couple of those. One had the cylinder right above ground. It had to be taken off by first frost. It sucked water up from the sand point and check valve held the prime.
Another had a 6 foot pit and cylinder and check was down there. I recall having the honor of crawling down there twice a year. It had a weep hole just above the check we plugged for summer and removed for winter season. That way we got winter water. Always in the summer it got 105-110 for a week or two, THEN I had to hook up pump handle and pump by hand because of no wind.
Also had cased wells with cylinders in water. Advantage was you COULD drop a stinger and pump with a gas or solar system but never had something so modern. Just hauled water | |
