Corn was running on empty during the hot week and green above the ear corn was drooping ears at only late dent early moisture line receding. Will this rain help TW or kernel depth preservation?

Got 4.8" several weeks after we really needed it, this wk!

 June 3 planted corn.

Good question and replies from many. But maybe we should reshape the narrative. This year is what it is now and yields will be what they will be. Now the questions turns to why did some hybrids handle the stress better than others did. I you can answer that question, it could be worth $ going into next year not knowing if this year was a one off weather wise or our we headed to a pattern of hot, dry over the next few years since we just came out of a wetter pattern since 2014!
