We've had propane grills for many, many years and I guess I can't say I've ever had any food off of them that tasted like propane. Charcoal grills on the other hand give everything the taste of charcoal and perhaps a hint of lighter fluid depending on who is operating the grill. I don't mind the flavor of a little wood smoke but charcoal is gross.
