There are tons of rub recipes on the web. This is a rub we found for pulled pork in the InstantPot, and it works great on Ribs also. But it just depends on what you like. Add in some garlic salt, onion salt, spicier pepper if you like that. Less sugar, lots of variations are possible. The key for me was to write it down so that we were not always starting from scratch every time! Here is the rub that we most recently used.

3 T Brown Sugar
2T Paprika
2 T Chili Powder
2 t Ground Cumin
1 t salt
1/2 t pepper

Here is the mop sauce that we put on the ribs when they are close to done (on the grill).

1/2 c ketchup
1.5 c apple juice
.25 c apple cider vinegar
.25 c brown sugar
4T Worcestershire sauce
1 t garlic powder

This makes enough sauce to coat up 3 racks of ribs.
