I've tried numerous different recipes and commercial rubs, but keep coming back to simple salt, pepper, and garlic. I apply until it looks good and never measure the ratios. It does great at highlighting the meat's flavor rather than covering it up. Especially for slow smoked cuts, it is my standard choice now.
