I have heard that too. The body craves food till it gets the nutrients it needs. If we are eating foods that only have a small amount of the nutrients we need, then we have to over eat them to get the amount needed. The "healthy vegetables" fall into that category. We have been led to believe we should avoid meat and especially fatty meat. But meat is one of the most nutrient dense foods. Amino and fatty acids are essential to our needs. My solution is to eat less vegetables and more meat. Seems to satisfy my hunger much better. Another problem is that highly processed foods are designed with the proper fat/sugar ratio to make them addictive and hungry for more. Promotes over eating them without reaching normal satiety signals the body sends to the brain telling us we have eaten enough. Whole real food sends the correct satiety signals. I agree the virus is not going away. If you read some of the stuff they are using for treatment, like vitamin D (which is actually a fat soluable hormone, not a vitamin), the more people stay coped up indoors the worse their D deficiency becomes. Many people, from my reading are vitamin D deficient as well as mineral deficiencies like potassium and magnesium. Not to mention sodium (another essential mineral we have been taught to fear). Not eating and snacking all day long is an important beneficial eating pattern. Eating or drinking drinks that keep insulin levels high all the time is what leads to insulin resistance. Insulin resistance leads to all sorts of metabolic maladies and disease. Eating only a couple times a day is a good health habit. Drinking sugar drinks all day long is terrible for the health. Keeps insulin elevated all the time, leading to insulin resistance. Add in the fructose problem that leads to fatty liver and sugar drinks or juice is a really big health problem for the general population. And guess who are the ones succumbing to covid 19? The ones with the metabolic problems like insulin resistance and diabetes. A change in diet could potentially help a lot of people become much healthier. But not the diet official guidelines tell us to eat. Diet change sure helped me. A video that talks about satiety and leptin. A link provided by WYDave over on Cafe that has a lot of good info on covid 19 The text starting on page 11 is especially interesting John
