Washington Co Ks | My dad always told the story of when they drilled a well at a local school. They had a guy douse to find water and he found a spot that he said was the only place in the schoolyard where there was water. When the well driller, who didn't believe in dousing, got there he had some guys distract the douser while he moved the stake. He then asked the douser to check it again and the only place he found water was at the stake that had been moved. The well driller said it was a more convenient place for the well where the stake had originally been but the douser couldn't find water there then. They drilled the well there and had plenty of water. | |
